Default My first video :O

Hey all, As a start to the summer hols I threw a video together this morning, it's pretty crap and the best part has to be the soundtrack lol

It's not meant to be terribly impressive, more of a confidence builder for me, to actually get a video together. Hopefully I'll make a few more in the summer holidays and at other times.

Don't look at anything you do like that. Ever. Regardless of the level you are at there will be people who make you look crap.

Instead look at how much you have improved since you've started. When you first started you couldn't do all that. In a few months time you will watch this again and be amazed at how much you have progressed.

Things I think you should work on :

0.38 - I want to see you drilling balance stuff on there.

1.04 - Get this really fast. Looks like you have a great place to practice underbars. Aim to do it without using your legs.

Practice the basic vaults more - I saw benches, and gates.


Oh and I want to play in the rafters in the barn

looks like you can just ignore the second bar tbh - jus use your momentum from the jump/swing off the first bar to get you over the gate

Like Scott said, think of this video as a checkpoint in your training. It may be egotistical but if you have a period when you dont feel like training, and you dont have the enthusiasm, I feel theres nothing better than looking back on your videos for inspiration.

Yes its good looking at other's video and such, but with your own, you can judge your strength, technique and pick out what you can still do well ect ect.

Also remember static excercise's are just as important as dynamic ones. Things like hanging and balancing in different possitions will do wonders for your ankle, wrist and core strength. Like has been said, there is plenty of room for this kind of training around you

Today went back over stuff I did and had another look. As you said Scott, I tried the balancing and got it the second time after losing balance getting on and having to jump down. I can now walk along the whole length and turn around And as for the Underbar thingy, I pushed myself a little more so I can get it without feet touching the gate and without changing my hands onto the second beam. I just grab onto the first swing forward and momentum carries me straight over.
