| | Parkour in a rural environment
Parkours usually associated with the cities, and not usually fields and forests and such, which makes up a lot of Aberdeenshire.
What do you specifically find different about training in the countryside? Is it a feeling of "just making do with what you have" or do you feel there's more opportunities?
I personally prefer urban environments. Where I live is simply all fields, which means all I can do is vault fences. Even this isn't terribly good, seeing as they're covered in barbed wire, so a screw ups gonna hurt |

I've got to say that personally I prefer training in the forest, or natural rock formations to the city.
A picture from a bennachie trip - 2 years ago at school. The other 3 people that where there thought I was going to hurt myself because I was trying to catch the pheasant's Good times. The below picture is just one of the many formations that was fun, heaps more I didn't train on. That pic doesnt do it justice though. 原帖地址: Aberdeen Parkour [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]
I think it's the fact that these areas force you to move in such a unique manner. Whereas in the city you mainly use the same few basic techniques. Also you can't forget the tranquility of training in a natural area. It's very peaceful - easy to push yourself when your calm, and not worried about being moved on.
I like the city because theres always a lot of people at the jams but so much more could be done if we got everyone out into the woods or something. It really challenges your creativity and you can develop some interesting movements to say the least.
On that note I'm going to phone rory and see if hes wanting a sesh in the woods |

Hahah, oh wow, that'd be awesome. I need to go up bennachie again and have a look.
I can see how the uniformity of cities can be a bit boring after a while lol
But, nevertheless, a mountain is still a huge step up from Flat fields with nothing, and I mean nothing else |

Its the the fact that it's boring as such, but the pure range of movements you get to use is awesome. Although you need to have spent time with the basics before you consider trying many of the more unique possibilities. As I've improved I've noticed many new things in balmedie that I walked past for my first year or so of training. Still find new things to this day, its such a good feeling when you discover a new spot.
Bit of a bummer having only fields around you, no good trees to play in?
On the plus side - I bet you have fun when the hay bails come out 原帖地址: Aberdeen Parkour [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]
Once the weather is consistently good we should have a day trip training up bennachie.

ach, well I suppose there's a few trees nearby that are alright for messing around and climbing, its a shame so many trees in this area are all scots pine, and packed in forestries so close together you can't even get into them
Now hay bails ARE fun, I need to start practicing flips |

After playing CS yesterday and ending up on a climb map that comment really makes me want to cut a route through one of those super dense forests. I will never do it, but it looks cool in my brain
Actually that reminds me, Rory and me once built something in the forest. There was heaps of wood lying around so we built our own little tree obstacle course. Good times
Note: When I say built I mean placed precariously - when it got windy it probably came down.

Yeah, Me, scott, david, flan, danno and tim headed down to the last one that happened.
It was absolutely awesome man. Such an awesome feeling being there with so many like minded people all training. Seriously good stuff.
The place was amazing too, beautiful. And of course totally sweet training spots all over the place.
