Hey all

If your reading this topic I am guessing that you are interesting in becoming part of our illustrious team of staff! Excellent!

Since at the moment the community is just starting out, again. There is just myself, as we grow it will get harder and harder for me to find time to deal with everything going on in the forum. So I am now taking moderator applications from those of you who wish to help out

In order for you to become part of our team you must be over 18 years old & also be an established member of the forums. The minimum post count is: 50
These posts must be of decent quality and not crappy small ones or spam.

You must of course have a clean record and know the rules in order to enforce them.

Mod Team Handbook - A Handbook for the moderation team of Aberdeen Parkour

Expectations, Encouragements and Powers for the Moderator Team .


Expectations:

1. -All members of the mod team are firstly and most importantly expected to show and exhibit an active interest in the forum. You've gotta be excited! This means that you exhibit good amounts of posting, energy and presence. This is probably the most important expectation from any of the Mod Team members as sincere interest exhibits itself through posts and presence. If a Mod Team member is seen to begin losing interest in the site, whereby through diminished posting and presence, we would ask that they then realize this and, themselves, assess their active role here as a member of the Mod team. Mod Team Members must realize that the role of the mod team is an active one and is based entirely upon an active presence. If your interest begins to change, please be honest about your role and how this affects our expectations of you as a member of this team and speak to an Admin as soon as you can.
2. -Comportment as a member of the Mod team. Mod behavior must be exemplary if not model. Members of the team are expected to follow the rules regarding behavior and attitude that reflects well on the site, and sets an example for all of the community to follow.    • -illegal
   • -distasteful
   • -disallowed content as specified within our rules
   • -pornography
   • - and/or advertising links or content.
   Courage and compassion is key here. It’s easy to point out a broken rule, but much more of a challenge to do it diplomatically while preserving the dignity of a member. A friendly but firm pat on the back shows members what they've done that was against our rules, but also gives them the message that we value their patronage and their continued presence on our boards. Let's look for as many win wins as possible!

      Chatbox commands:
      
      * /me message - Emotes your message. E.g "/me shakes Andrews hand" would output as **Danno shakes Andrews hand**
      * /slap Username - Turns into; /me slaps username.
      * /silence userid or username - No one but the person being silenced will be able to see their shouts. (Admin Command)
      * /unsilence userid or username - Reverts actions processed by /silence.
      * /ignore userid or username - Allows you to ignore any user in the shoutbox.
      * /unignore userid or username - Reverts actions processed by /ignore.
      * /pm username; message - Allows you to private message any user in the shoutbox.
      * /prune command (admin only)
      * /prune [username] Admin Command - New command to prune shouts from a user only
      * /ban userid or username command (admin only)
      * /unban userid or username command (admin only)
      * /notice message (admin only) Assigns shoutbox notice
      * /removenotive (admin only) Removes any assgned shoutbox notice

Just like to update everyone, I have accepted ScottON as a moderator on trial in response to his application.

For now that may be all we need, though I may possibly promote 1 other person to help out. If Scott can manage on his own then I'll just leave it at that for now but please feel free to apply anyway as when it gets busier I will take on more staff. Same conditions still apply.

If you have any questions/concerns/comments/feedback then your welcome to send me a PM. Also just to reassure everyone, all actions performed are verbosely logged and backups are kept. Standard moderators can not hard delete anything from the server/database.

Flan has been gratefull enough to take on a position as a forum moderator to help out Scott and I.
