Default Where could we go?

As I've said before to some of you. A while back I put a message on my university's MOTD asking who was interested in starting a Parkour group - This was before we had the site in order.

Anyway I didn't take it any further than that, however from that I have a list of emails of around 20 people who are interested in starting Parkour. There was a few guys with some experience. Also quite a few girls who showed a interest - About a quarter of the total respondents.

I havn't emailed this site out to them yet as I feel we should be able to offer them a decent introduction session to Parkour without the risk of being moved on, and preferably somewhere without alot of people - as I know I found being watched very intimidating when I first started.

What I want from you guys is a list of places that you think would be good to teach total beginners the basics of parkour - a few vaults, introduce the roll, light conditioning - whilst still keeping them interested. I'm pretty sure random one off rails wouldn't seem as acceptable to them as it does us

Thanks guys

you might think about the skylights/pondwall?
There is the section of raised grass which could be used to practice vaulting up, there are a few catleaps... to the pondwall, off the bench... and also, there are tthos benchs in the tunnely sort of underpass thing that would be useful for teaching vaults. I know that is where I went when i first started.

Yeah, the grassy area is a good spot to demonstrate/teach/learn the roll as well.

I think the skylights is perfect!

-EDIT- Not for rolls obviously, maybe the beach or Duthie Park.

I'm thinking duthie park would be a pretty good choice, or the uni itself it has pretty much everything you ever need. Maybe even Fittie/Fittiee beach since it has lots of rails, walls, a play park, grass, sand & a load of natural rocks thrown together

I like that idea, although the uni does sound the best!

Fittie beach also sounds super awesome kickass!

Mmm good suggestions people. I think that the skylights/pondwall area would be one possibility.

I've not see Duthie Park in ages, and I've never been to fittie I don't think so I can't comment on them.

Only problem I see with the uni is that theres a lot of people there. I know that when I first started I was really conscious of people watching me.

I suppose we could use one of the lesser traveled areas. Possibly the bit we spent a day training at. Its opposite the uni pitches, one long rail up the middle. I can't remember what it's called.
