| | Funding from the council
As many of you know we are currently looking for funding for the council.
Our first priority is to get the community properly going again - that means people use these forums.
We also got to raise awarness of what parkour actually is.
The first meeting was quite good, Hamish and Yagya both seemed very supportive
But before our next meeting it's important we have a really tight presentation.
I got this email forwarded to me and thought you might be interested. Quote: Dear Hamish,
Thanks for invitation for the participation in the youth group’s meeting
organized for the dissemination of PARKOUR website.
First of all I would like to really appreciate the way Mr. Hamish had
facilitated the meeting to let come out the youth’s pioneer ideas.
Moreover, I would like to thanks the youth team members who had
presented nicely and had eventually come up with empirically new
initiative ideas with keen zeal and enthusiasm to reach far in their
destination.
From our interaction with the group, I am confident, we can develop at
least 3 youth initiative projects and 1 exchange visit/ youth mobility
project from the ideas that youth groups has dreamt up.
Youth group will further workout and call next meeting to give clear
shape to their ideas so that the fundability of the projects in the bids
would be high.
In the mean time, the youth group will also identify at least 2 groups
from other 2 EU countries who are involved in PARKOUR activities so that
we could develop youth mobility projects in the future.
Hence, I can clearly see the bright future of these youth's pioneer
ideas.
I would like to thanks Kay, Hamish, and youth groups for providing this
forum. I am keenly interested to provide my facilitative and technical
support to materialize these ideas.
With best regards,
Yagya | ^ The main points from that are that: - we need to get website to take off
- Have 3 workable big goals
- Its likely we can get funding to train abroad
- Open communications with countries abroad that we would like to eventually train with
So what I want everyone to do is say what kinda things they want from the funding. I personally thinking short term we should aim for workshops with the really good guys, then trips funding , and as a long term goal a fixed structure built specifically for us. I'm liking this [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] . Even just one of those sections would be awesome.
Anyway post what you guys think.
Scott

This is simply awesome, to be quite honest It'd be great to have the council on our side, and would certainly make things easier for us in the future. Especially if this became some sort of youth regeneration project. I'd like to see something built for us as well, emblazoned with the aberdeen parkour logo and "funded by aberdeen city council" to keep that lot happy |

This could be the best thing to happen to parkour in aberdeen for a long time. Thanks to the guys who set this up for us.
At worst we will increase awareness of the true meaning of parkour and at best... who knows! 原帖地址: Aberdeen Parkour [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]

It is important we establish a community so we are recognised.

This is extremly encouraging and hopefully sparks a new element to Aberdeen Parkour.
I think the first thing I would like to push for, Is getting regular access to a gym again, even if its just renting a school with some equipment or something, or wether it means trying to get back to the good old sprung floor and the likes.
On the exchange thing, I think getting back in contact with the dutch team Tanoshi would be a good idea. I think they still have a class going and quit a large community of young and old.
Im also wondering if the Corby peoples could be an idea.
Iv always been thinking about trying to set up some camp thing, I mean we have pretty amazing countryside around our area, Im sure there must be little gems to train on somewhere around here. Maybe setting up some kind of Trace like thing could work.

This'd be really cool. I think a gym's a good idea, any facilities would be great.
And for the camp, It would be great to have the oppurtunity to spend the occasional weekend out somewhere other than Aberdeen to train, like a forest or country park.

With regards to the gym, I think its a great idea but not something we really need support from the council for. I would rather push for things that we couldn't acheive without their support. I'll start a new topic about the gym discusion. I thought this deserved to be repeated - Danno got some awesome Smilies

Once you get out of school everyone uses powerpoint to convey proposals and such.
If no one else wants to make it i'll start it in the next few days.
Explaining the following - I used your list from 1st meeting and expanded a little ben : - What Parkour is -defination, video example, a little on how its grown since it's started
- How we practice - risks, progression, importance of strength
- Aberdeen community - how public percieve us, police interactions >.<
- What we are currently doing - growing website, looking for gym, weekly training, developing relations with other parkour groups ect..
- What we would like funding for - coaching training, youth exchange, and longterm a structure specifically built for us
- Anything else that seems important
If anyone can think of anything we should add stick it on here
Thanks Guys

Hey just thought I might add, if we are collaborating on a powerpoint presentation, then people who dont have the M$ version or want to pay. You can get a legal alternative (Which is far better imo) called Open Office Impress, part of the Open Office Suite. That way it makes it easyer for us to send different versions to each other and get something that everyone has had input in. 原帖地址: Aberdeen Parkour [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]

Also I'm really amped for this, it will be very interesting to see how things go in the months that follow!
