| | Union: video, movement, music.
a few days ago we were given these ccards by a woman who spotted us training, but for anyone who doesn't know about this here's all the information. A filmmaking workshop with alice finbow & Anthony Schrag.
"This workshop takes the "music video" as a startng point to inspire participants to make their own short films. Using collaborative games, parkour, and physical movement whilst learning practical film making skills. This three day workshop is a fun way to explore how to make your own videos from start to finish." 原帖地å€: Aberdeen Parkour [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] workshop one workshop two

This seems pretty awesome, and as we are aberdeen parkour, I think its the sort of thing we need to get involved with. Its organised by the scottish arts council, aberdeen city council, creative identities and union square shopping centre. If we get on board, it could mean more for us in the future. Even if we just show up and help out with the parkour side of things or act as liasons-advertise our group to people who wanna take it further. Maybe someone from here should get in contact and see what we could arrange with them, remembering to mention this website and such.

My knee is messed up at the moment otherwise I would be all over this. If it's feeling better I might contact them about helping at the older workshop.

Yeah, I think someone should definitely contact them and let them know that an organised group exists in aberdeen. It might mean bigger things in the future.

I got a couple of twinges that went away after a couple of days rest, but then it came back slightly worse last week so I'm just gonna take things easy until the Glasgow workshop - just doing bodyweight squats and knee strengthening exercises and trying to get plenty of vitamins/minerals in the meantime..

Ali,
Thankfully it's nothing as serious as that. I messed it up doing deadlifts, pistols then sprints with a rubbish warmup. I was short on time and was set on getting my planned training done.
As it's been a couple of months since I've did pistols and a few weeks since I was last sprinting my knee didn't enjoy the surprise attack. Won't take long for it to heal. It just feels a little tweaked.
Hope you heal up fast.
Alec I'll email them later saying that we would like to help out if they run future events like this. Got to say good job on posting this Alec.

Got a email back from them. If anyone is free they should go along and say hi. They have said they will contact us in the future if other things come up. They forwarded the email to someone else so we may have some stuff come up in the near future.
If any of the newer people are free on sunday it sounds like a good thing to go along to. Quote:
It's a shame you guys can't make any of the workshops this week. Anthony, the artist who has bee doing them is also doing a beginners workshop at the weekend for 10 - 18 year olds on Sunday at 3pm. It will be too basic for you guys but do let anyone whose interested in beginning know if you think they might like to come along. It's free of charge (part of a programme of events we're doing across the weekend) and they'd be very welcome. Details on here: [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] |

Weather's not been great for the first workshop so far. I 'm going to be able to attend the parkour freerunning workshop on the 25th, even though I won't make it to the film making event. Seems like a great oppurtunity for us to get involved.
EDIT:Email sent.
